Favorite Summer activities featuring Edlie Nicholas, Housekeeper III, summer vacation in Montreal, Canada

Edlie Nicholas has worked in the Environmental Services Department at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center for eight years.He  takes great care in keeping the busy Main Lobby areas neat and clean. Edlie enjoys working in the lobbies as he loves meeting people from all different walks of life and working in a fast paced environment.

Edlie speaks English, French and Creole, and always has a smile on his face as he helps his customers and those in need.  Family and friends are very important to Edlie. During the summer months, Edlie likes to travel to Montreal, Canada to visit his brother, sister and their families. He also enjoys visiting New York to spend time with his many friends.

Last week, Edlie traveled with his wife and his daughter to Montreal to visit his family. It took him about 5 hours to drive from Boston to Montreal.  

In Montreal, Edlie and his family spent quality time by visiting parks, cooking, shopping, dancing and catching up with all the family news.

Edlie felt rejuvenated when he came back to work this week and is already planning for his next trip in September to visit his friends in New York!

Favorite summer activities from our colleagues at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center

After a long , harsh winter and a chilly start to the summer weather, we finally had a chance to experience summer this past week in Boston! The weather ranged from highs in the 90's (Fahrenheit) to lows in the 60's (Fahrenheit) in the evening.

At the Sodexo account at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, our colleagues enjoy summer by spending time with their families, going on camping trips to Maine and New Hampshire, going to the beach or working on their homes. They shared lots of interesting and fun stories with me and it just brightened my day.

So, I have asked my colleague's permission to share their summer vacation stories on this blog so it will brighten your day as well! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Happy Summer!

The first article is from David Tupper, Sodexo Unit Controller at Lahey Health System. He just came back from his summer vacation at New Sharon, Maine. Let's hear from David about his vacation:

"I often travel to New Sharon, Maine to visit my cousin. From Burlington, it is about a three hour drive into the Maine countryside. It is covered with trees, farms and wildlife.

I love this area in Maine since I live and work in busy Massachusetts. It is a great feeling of relaxation to be somewhere that you can hear the birds chirp and watch the wildlife. Also, stargazing is pristine without any city lights to block out the view. Spending time with family and friends is precious, too.

I have friends in Maine who have a camp on Clearwater Lake in Farmington. It is a beautiful setting for lobster dinners by the water. There is always a cooling breeze off the lake in even the hottest weather. When you want to go out, you can visit The Ugly Moose restaurant and bar.

I have just returned from Maine and had a wonderful time. Working for Sodexo offers you the opportunity to work hard but also take the time off you need to re-energize yourself for work. Maine is the place I love to do this."
